About
StopAJCReach.org is a community organization website with the goal of stopping driveway, yard and street delivery of AJC Reach advertising circulars that are littering our neighborhoods.
Summary:
- AJC Reach is an advertising circular product of The Atlanta Journal Constitution. This advertising circular is dropped off in driveways, yards and streets on a weekly basis, and is littering our neighborhoods.
- While individuals can call AJC Reach to opt-out of the driveway drops, that doesn’t solve the broader problem that these advertising circulars are being dropped off every week, littering our neighborhoods.
- Many citizens have attempted to resolve the issue with AJC executives and staff. In some cases, AJC staff have talked by phone; in other cases, people have received form letter responses by e-mail; in other cases, executives have been entirely unresponsive to multiple requests to talk. Despite our efforts to resolve the problem privately and amicably, the problem remains unresolved.
- Thus, we are organizing our community, to apply economic and public pressure on AJC to stop littering our neighborhoods.
Previously AJC Reach was distributed by U.S. mail, to mailboxes. However, in December 2009, AJC Reach changed its delivery method to reduce costs, instead dropping the advertising circulars in driveways, yards and in the street.
We want AJC Reach to stop littering our neighborhoods. That can be accomplished by any of the following:
- Go back to USPS delivery (instead of driveway/street/lawn drops).
- Make AJC Reach and “opt in” delivery, instead of an “opt out” delivery
- Entirely stop delivery of AJC Reach advertising circular
